AN EXCURSION
Introduction:- Excursion means to visit new places of
historical or other importance and to gather experience. Excursion teaches us
many things and gives pleasure. We learn many things better through excursion.
The Government also encourages students for excursions. This year we had an
excursion to Puri and Konark during the Puja vacation.
Preparation:- The school was closed on 4th October and on that veryday we the student of class X started on our excursion. Our class teacher was with us. We carried our necessary things in our suitcases. We started our journey by bus from Paradeep to Cuttack. We saw many beautiful sights on the two sides of the road. We reached Cuttack at 8 A.M. and rushed to the Railway station. There we caught the Talcher-Puri train. On the way to Puri we passed many bridges, towns and saw many beautiful sights. At Khurda road junction the train halted for a long time. There we took our Tiffin. Then the train started and we reached Puri at about 1 P.M.
We went to the Bagadia Dharmasala which was booked for us. We got ourselves refreshed and took our lunch in a hotel. In the evening we went to the sea shore. It was a grand sight. We saw 'Swarga Dwar'.
Description of the new place:- On the next day morning we took bath and went
to the temple of Lord Jagannath. We offered our devotion to the Lords and saw
other temples and the museum. We took 'Abhada' in the Anand Bazar. Then we went
to visit the temple of Lord Lokanath.
In the
afternoon we went to Konark in a tourist bus. We saw the magnificent 'Sun
Temple' there. The guide told us the past history of the
temple. Then we visited Chandrabhaga and returned back to Puri. We halted there
for that night. The next morning we caught train and at about 11.30 A.M. we
reached Cuttack. At Cuttack we saw the Ravenshaw College, Barabati Stadium,
Mahanadi bridge and in the evening we returned back Paradeep in a nonstop bus.
Conclusion:- It was a very pleasant journey. I can't forget the success at Konark. All should go on excursions in their lives.
