Sir,
I, on behalf of Mahatma Gandhi Athletic Association beg to state that the people of this locality have long felt the need of having a sports club here. The local municipality authorities have agreed to lease a large space which can be converted into a good playground at an expenses of Rs. 20.000/- (rupees twenty thousands) only. Some big merchants promised to donate costly
shield, cups for organizing open tournaments. Opening of a sports club here is necessary for the interest of the sports minded public of this locality. I assure, if it comes into being, shall abide by the rules and decisions of the Orissa Sports Council.
I, therefore, request you to kindly accord your sanction to the opening of a sports club here and such was a lamp grant of Rs. 20.000/- to meet the initial expenses.
