Introduction :-
Now we
are living in the age of Computer. It is one of the greatest invention of man.
Though the man is the inventor yet now he is controlled by the computer.
Computer can solve many problems which are not possible by man. The calculation
by the computer are true and right. Modern educated man wants to have a
computer with him. The functions of computers now range from solving
mathematical problems of space-rocket technology, star war projects and
personal problems of day to day life. In fact computers pervade every aspect of
human life like trade, commerce, industry, education, health care,
communications, the press, banking and insurance & entertainment etc. They
are in great demand by the people.
Its advantages:-
Computer
can choose, copy, compare and perform many other operations done by man. It
accepts the data given to it in order to give the results. The program-me gives
instructions to the computer written in a systematic method. Languages like
BASIC, COBOL, FORTAN and ALGORITHMIC are used in computers. It is wonderful
that operations are done without error which is not possible for man. A
computer has three parts. The input devices accept the program me, the central
processing unit solves the problems and the output device points the result of
the problem.

Disadvantages:-
Computers
are available in many sizes and designs. There are micro computers and super
computers. Mainly three types of computers are seen. Digital, Analogue and
Hybrid computers. Digital computers are seen in big shops, offices, hotels and
research centers. Analogue computers can forecast the future finds out
diseases, prescribes the medicines and settle the marriages. The hybrid
computers have mixed functions - of both digital and analogue.
Conclusion:-
Computers
help us in various ways. It provides the means of high students of living. The
day will come when - computers will be a family asset.
