Introduction:-  They, who lead their nations and dedicate their lives for the good of their nations are treated as national leaders. They live like heroes and die as martyrs. Gandhijee was the greatest national leader of our country. He sacrificed his life for India. He brought freedom to the Indians. He is revered as the Father of the Nation. People call and worship him as Bapu.
Birth& Early life:- He was born on the 2nd October, 1869 in Porbandar in Kathiawar. He was known as Mohan Das Karam Chand Gandhi. Kaba Gandhi, the then Dewan of Kathiawar was his father and his mother was Putulibai. From his very childhood Gandhi was truth and kind. At the age of only thirteen he married Kasturi Bai. After finishing his education up to matric he went to England and became a Barister-at-Law. He went to South Africa as a Barister and worked for the Indians living very miserable lives there. He experimented truth and non-violence there and came back to India in 1914. He then took the leadership of Indian National Congress and made revolution of civil disobedience against the British Government. He demanded freedom for the Indians. Many eminent persons like Nehru, Patel, Raj Gopalachary joined him.
Good deeds & Dedications:-  Gandhiji worked for social reform and economic development of the People. He tried to remove untouchability from the society. He dreamt of the Rama Rajya in India. He preached all to the clean in body and mind. He tried to establish communal harmony between the Hindus and Muslims. He began the Quit India movement in 1942. India became free on the 15th, August 1947. It is a matter of regret that a Hindu fanatic killed him on 30th, Jan 1948: Gandhiji is no more with us but his spirit lives with every Indian. He is truly the father of our nation.
Conclusion:-  Gandhiji is revered by the world as a great friend of mankind. He was a humanitarian.
