A FOOTBALL MATCH
Introduction
:- Football is an outdoor
game. To watch a football match is very much interesting.
Place and date of the match :- On the 10th of July this year there was a
football match between the Royal Bengal team of Kolkata and Orissa Eleven. It
was held at the Barabati Stadium, Cuttack. I went to see the match with my
friends. We bought the tickets in advance. We reached the stadium before the
match was to begin and saw that the galleries were full. The spectators were
waiting eagerly.
The football teams :- The teams got ready for the nmatch. The players put on their field dresses and proceeded to the field. The referee came in time and blew the whistle. The Royal Bengal team won the toss and chose the Eastern side of the ground. All the players including the captain and the goal keeper of each team introduced themselves to the referee by shaking hands with him. The goal keepers and other players took their respective positions. The match started just at 4 P.M. The spectators greeted both the teams by clapping their hands. They cheered the players with loud sound. From the very beginning the Qrissa Eleven played well and
took the ball again and again to the goal area of Royal Bengal team.
Spectators:- The players of Royal Bengal team were very alert. The Orissa Eleven players could not score any goal upto the half time.
The result :- After the half time both the teams played with greater force. It seemed as if the match would end in a draw. But before a minute or two the right out of Royal Bengal team scored a goal from a corner shot. They won the match by one zero.
Conclusion:- Though the Orissa Eleven lost the game yet all the players had shown their talent. It was a closely contested game.
