People keep some animals at
their home and take care of them. They feed them. Getting shelter and folding
the animals do some useful works for their masters. Such animals are known as
domestic animals. Amongst the domestic animals cattle, buffalo, goat, dog,
horse, sheep, cat, mongoose, elephant, camel, donkey, monkey, mule, cock, duck,
parrot, pigeon, Swan are very useful to man.
The cow gives milk which is a nutritious food for all. Bullocks pull the carts and
plough the fields. Their dung, urine are used as manures. Like cattle buffaloes
are very useful. They also give milk and help in ploughing. We get milk from
the she-goat. Some kill goats to get meat. Dogs watch our houses. They are very faithful. In some countries horses plough the lands. They take people from one place to other. Pull the carts. Woolen dresses are made from the furs of sheep.
Cats are kept for the rats. Cats kill them. We keep mongoose to save ourselves from the snakes. Elephants do a lot of work for men. Camels are called as the
ships of the desert. Domestic animals like donkey, monkey,
mule, cock, duck, parrot, pigeon, swan are very useful for men.
We should take proper care of our domestic animals. We should not be cruel to them. They fully depend on us. We should not forget their good service to our mankind.
