THE POLICE MAN
Introduction:- A policeman is a public servant. He is a
Government employee. He occupies the lowest rank in the police department. He
is tall, strong and well built.
His dress:- He wears a khaki uniform and a khaki turban on his head. He puts on shoes on feet, a leather band round his waist and holds a Lathi in his hand. He uses the Lathi as his weapon. Sometimes he carries a rifle. Common people are terribly afraid of him when he is out on duty. He works in various wings of police department and wears uniforms accordingly. When he is in traffic duty he puts on white dresses.
Duties:- The duties of a policeman is very hard and his responsibilities
are great. He maintains law and order in our society, protects the life and
property of people, detects crime and arrests the criminals. He helps the
people when they are in trouble or danger. He helps the common people at the
time of communal riots. People feel safe and sleep peacefully as he patrols at
night. He seizes and captures thieves and criminals. Sometimes he fights with
the antisocial at the risk of his life.
Responsibility:- In
big cities and towns the policeman controls the traffic. He helps the new
comers to find out the night house or street. The services of policeman are
greatly necessary when there are processions and large gatherings. He prevents the violence at the time of riots. He controls the crowd and check unlawful activities.
His power and importance:- The policeman is a great friend and protector of the people. His presence is very much necessary at election booths, examination centre, and fairs. The railway police catch the people traveling without tickets. The policeman enjoys great power. He has the support of law when he exercises his power. People fear him and obey him. If he abuses his power law punishes him.
Conclusion:- On the whole the police are great friends of
people and are very essential for maintenance of peace and order. Protections
of laws, detection of crime and enforcement of civil laws, we should co-operate
the police for the betterment of the society. (Partly borrowed)
